lyrics

He came from up there, beyond the stars, to save his world, by eradicating ours.

Sent down, to destroy us all, drinking dirty water from a stone in the wall.

Shape shifter, with a handsome laugh, mover of mountains, only walked in a straight path

Father of the plague, rancid and wet, witchdoctor with elephant bones around his neck.

Killer of kings, there is no escape, every step the giant took, the ground shook, the earth quaked

It rained in the east, while the west was burning. The sun turned blue, and the world stop turning.

They begged the preachers, to bribe the priests. But none could overcome, the nature of the beast.

A furious glory, of heavenly love, rained down on the land, and the sand turned to mud

The animals died, the oceans dried, the love inside, on which mankind relied

Was poisoned. By the gatekeepers sword. Vengeance is the wrath of god, for being ignored

The churches imploded, the faithful perished, religions we’re punished, for their affluent arrogance

Havoc exploded, the rage increased, the stink of seven billion holy ghosts at peace.

The few remaining, in immortal shame, tortured by the echoes of their loved one’s slain

One by one, the unmerciful demon, tracked down every single last human being.

And bound them in chains, of barbed wire so sharp, it pierced the flesh, and ripped the soul apart.

At the edge of the world, where the blackness feeds, he hung them from a hook in the sky, and watch them bleed

All except, a single little girl. Innocent to the original sin that brought the end of the world.

For in her eyes, no evil could exist. Just the innocence, and beauty, and bliss, of obliviousness

Bruised and terrified, she fell to her knees, begging the arch angel, clutching his knees

Please don’t kill me, I’m scared to die. He threw her to the ground with a smirk and said ‘why?’

You die to be born, it’s really not that bad, soon you’re going to be just like mom and dad.

Composing herself, she peered over the edge, ’is it going hurt? She asked,…. the manticore smiled, and said yes.

A lot. So hold your breath, and count to ten, and don’t breathe in, until I say when.

She climbed on his back, and closed her eyes, and they jumped into the darkness forever.
